David Hatch wished he had taken up magic when he was still working as a children’s anesthetist at Great Ormond Street hospital. Sadly, he only took a serious interest in the subject on his retirement a few years ago, but is now a regular attender at the magic lectures in the Italian centre in London .

He has performed for charity under the name “Professor Whizzo”, either on his own or with his musical accomplice “Keyboard Kate”, and has developed an illustrated lecture/demonstration on the history of magic.

His long-term aim was to become a member of The Magic Circle and now he is .

David grew up in a Christian family, but his commitment to his Lord was strengthened in the 1970’s when he was asked to  lead a group of 14 year old children who were too old for the Sunday school and were drifting away from his local church.

David was a founder member of Woodford Wells Ecumenical church www.wwec.co.uk whose aim is to foster closer links between Christians of all denominations, and which has just celebrated its 25th anniversary. He has found the use of magic helpful in bringing the Gospel to young people.
