David Mather

I have been in the Ministry for over 30 years, first in South Africa where I was trained and ordained by the Presbyterian Church.
Before retiring from full-time work in July 2009 I served the United Reformed Church in various places all over the UK.
While I have seen magic used in evangelism and teaching and have used magicians in the past.

I started doing puppets and magic in 2002 when I met Graham Nunn at The Christian Resources Exhibition.

Most of my tricks are done in the context of worship and teaching at the " Kids Talk" bit but now I have the chance to broaden my horizons into children's and old folks shows as well, not necessarily making a gospel point at some stage, though this is my first love. I can be myself or come in character as Professor PomPom.

I've been in FCM since 2003 and am also a member of The International Brotherhood of Magicians (Ring 25). I've been married to Sylvia since 1966, she has to see all the tricks first, as do the grandchildren who are very observant and critical of gaffes. Sylvia looks forward to conference even more than I do and neither of us can wait until next year.
