Lord, I pray every night, this I have done ever since I was a child, taught by my mother.
I believe there is a god, yet it all seems in vain. Just a routine.
When I pray nothing appears to happen. Lord, the problems that press upon me never
change or get any less. What must I do to obtain relief? Lord, I've begun to look back over the years, to reflect on what has passed and realise how you have guided and guarded me. There were distinct occasions that marked Your presence with me. In times of darkness and of joy. If you were there on these occasions You must be with me in the ordinary times also. I am wrong to suggest that You do not answer my prayers. Lord, give me faith. Renew my spirit and put a new song in my heart, a new spring in my step.
Stir within me so that I might know without Book of Job |
