Oh I know you have given me family, I have friends, but they are not always around when I want them, when need is greatest.

How can I explain how I feel?  People say things will be all right,
but what do they know?

The prophet was speaking in his day not ours.  What good are his words?

When I forget self for a moment I am reminded that these are Your words. "I will be your eternal light".

Your words are to be trusted, I am ashamed Lord Jesus when I remember that You were sad, that You experienced loss when friends You loved died.

In Your humanity You experienced what I now experience.
Your trust was in Your Heavenly Father. Help me to do the same.

Embrace me in such a way with Your love, that I may really feel Your touch.  Let me see the actions of my family and friends as the response to my cries to You.

Your days of grief will come to an end. I the Lord will be your eternal light.
